Okie State to go 12-0, A Bandwagon of Three

A columnist from Tulsa, Dave Sittler, is feeding red meat to the orange-clad faithful. Sittler predicts Oklahoma State will go undefeated in the upcoming football season. He points out that "heavy hitters" Boone Pickens and Matt Hayes (Sporting News) both agree with him.

Are they aware that no team in Oklahoma State history has come close to going undefeated? Even the 1987 and 1988 teams, which by all means were the best teams in school history, quarterbacked by Mike "I'm a man" Gundy and flanked by Heisman winner Barry Sanders and in both '87 and '88, and Thurman Thomas in '87 still lost two games each year.

I just don't see 12-0 happening when there are two other powerhouses in their same division this year and they have to open up the season against an opponent that smacked them around two years ago. Don't see it happening.

Yep, sure is tough to go undefeated when you lose your first game.

But who are we to question TBoone and Matty Hayes?
